Emission Compliance with an ROI

The Multi-Sector Air Pollutants Regulations (MSAPR), were implemented by Environment Canada on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. The current Federal regulations for MSAPR for stationary natural gas engines require owners and operators to reduce the NOx of the engine to be in compliance with the regulations.

These new NOx emission regulations will focus on:

  • Natural Gas Engines - Primarily utilized for compression, electrical power generation and pumping within industrial facilities
  • Boilers and Heaters - Steam generation for various purposes in industrial process applications
  • Grey Cement Manufacturing Facilities
Spartan offers a full suite of solutions, products and services to help you meet upcoming regulation changes for natural gas engines.

Our Recommendations for Pre-existing Engines

  • Perform an initial NOx test on the engine fleet
  • Determine which MSAPR compliance method fits best for your company
  • Access each engine in your group for compliance with the method chosen
  • Analyze which engines will need to reduce NOx and what is the best technology option for that engine
  • Perform the upgrades to the engines
  • Hire a reputable testing company to perform the initial MSAPR performance test

Specialized emission stack testing for engines and boilers.

Spartan has a wide range of emission testing services available using the protocols specified by the MSAPR:
• Spot checks
• Emission checks
• Performance tests
• Spot check before and after air-fuel ratio (AFR) upgrades, tuning or repair
